The influence of the sweet marsala-enriched staves on The Irishman’saward-winning, triple-distilled Single Malt whiskey is sumptuous.

As a creator and curator of whiskeys, Bernard Walsh’s international research into new cask finishes for his portfolio of whiskeys has seen him visit Italy, Spain, France, St. Lucia, China and of course  Kentucky, USA.  Commenting on the successful outcome of the project, Bernard Walsh said: “I love sweet tasting wines, so I love working with marsala. I am delighted that this 15-month finish has resulted in a beautifully balanced whiskey which is exclusive to our important partners – ARI Travel Retail. The Irish Whiskey Collection is playing a central role in the international resurgence of Irish whiskey.”

Tasting Notes:

ü  On the Nose: A sophisticated complexity of earthy notes with honey and floral aromas.

ü  The Palate: Notes of candied dried red berries with a rich toasted malt cereal mouth feel.

ü  And Finally the Finish: Never relenting, toasted honeyed malt giving way to fragrant floral notes… warmed, no doubt, by the Sicilian Summer Sun.
