Carlow, Ireland – 26th July 2018: The 2019 vintage ofWriters’ Tears Cask Strength whiskey has been launched to great acclaim at a sold-out Irish Whiskey Society event in Dublin last night (Thursday 25th).

The 2019 vintage is the 9th annual release of this super-premium expression from Walsh Whiskey. It is Ireland’s most unique cask strength whiskey as it is a rare vatting of aged Single Pot Still and Single Malt Whiskey. Writers’ Tears Cask Strength is triple distilled, natural non-chill filtered, carefully aged in Bourbon barrels and bottled at 53% ABV. The release is limited to just 3,780 individually numbered bottles, signed by Walsh Whiskey Founder and Managing Director – Bernard Walsh.

The super-premium whiskey is for sale across selected markets worldwide, with 1,200 bottles destined for the USA and the 2,580 shared across the Rest of the World. Those markets include, Ireland, the UK & Northern Ireland, Canada (Alberta & British Columbia), France, the Netherlands and selected travel retail outlets including Lagardère and The Loop (Dublin & Shannon).

Nose

Delicate spice alongside natural sweetness, notes of cracked black pepper.

Taste

Hints of roasted walnuts, honeyed oats, sugar-dusted raisins and apricot.

Finish

Touches of salted caramel, lingering sweetness.
